It did not take long for Lucio to continue his career after his contract was terminated Juventus, Monday (17/12/2012). Brazilian Returning to his country, he immediately joined in Sao Paulo and agreed to sign a two-year contract on Tuesday (12/18/2012).
"Profile of a quality player like him to our squad would qualify to compete in the competition next season," said Vice President of Sao Paulo, Joao Paulo de Jesus Lopes, on the club's official website.
During his professional career, Lucio played for five different clubs. His career skyrocketed when he joined Bayern Munich in the span of 2004-09.
Lopes claimed, Lucio is the figure of a player that needed Sao Paulo, let alone a 34-year-old player was full of experience playing in big clubs of Europe.
"We had approached him in July, but the effort ultimately failed. Hopefully everything is going well and he was able to demonstrate the quality, experience, and leadership in our squad," he added.
